Join with Congressional Armenian Caucus Co-Chair David Valadao (R-CA) and Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA), the leading tax expert in the U.S. Congress, in urging your U.S. Representative to call on U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin to help boost U.S.-Armenia trade by negotiating a new U.S.-Armenia Double Tax Treaty.
U.S. Representatives have until February 5th to co-sign a letter to Secretary Mnuchin urging immediate action, explaining that the current Tax Treaty between the United States and Armenia is insufficient for the needs of the two countries, as it was negotiated with the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) during the Cold War in 1973.
"The existing Soviet-era treaty does not reflect the increasing complexity of a globalized world and the friendship between the American and Armenian peoples. Furthermore, it is vital we provide businesses from both countries the ability and incentive to invest in one another," notes the letter to Secretary Mnuchin.
